With healing practices such as yoga, meditation, sound bath, massage therapies, as well as spending time in nature we and allow ourselves to heal recover and rejuvetate.

A day dedicated to the Five Elements theory, with a specific focus on the “Wood” – element of the Spring, embracing renewal, and fostering inner harmony through movement, energy healing, and sound.

We created for you, a truly transformative day retreat that leaves you feeling refreshed, balanced, and deeply connected to yourself and the natural world.

According to Traditional Chinesse Medicine (TCM),  Meridians are pathways through which Qi flows, and imbalances can lead to physical and emotional issues. By targeting specific meridians, we aims to restore balance and promote overall health, with practices such us:

Mandala Flow generates heat and movement, promoting circulation and flexibility.

Yin Yoga targets deeper tissues, releasing tension and fostering relaxation.

Reiki enhances the flow of energy, promoting healing on a deeper level.

Sound Bath utilizes vibrational frequencies to induce a state of deep relaxation and promote emotional well-being.

Retreat Structure:

Morning (Grounding and Activation):

10:00 – 10:30 PM: Arrival and Welcome:
Herbal tea and light, seasonal snacks (e.g., fresh fruit, nuts).
Brief introduction to the Wood element and the day’s intention.

10:30 – 11:00 PM: Grounding Meditation and Breathwork:
Guided meditation to connect with the present moment.
Pranayama (breathing exercises) to activate Qi and prepare the body for movement.

11:00 – 12:15 PM: Elemental Mandala Flow (Wood):
Dynamic Mandala Vinyasa flow, focusing on movements that stimulate the Liver and Gallbladder meridians.
Emphasis on circular movement and fluid transitions.

12:15 – 1:45 PM: Lunch Break:
Nourishing, vegetarian lunch inspired by TCM principles, emphasizing fresh, green vegetables.
Walk in the nature & Tree hugging.
Time to digest and refresh.

Afternoon (Restoration and Healing):

1:45 – 3:00 PM: Yin Yoga for Gallbladder & Spleen Meridian + Reiki

  • Deep, passive Yin poses held for extended periods to release tension and promote energy flow. Focus on targeting the Gallbladder and Spleen meridians.
  • Reiki Healing Session: Participants receive a group Reiki healing to balance energy and promote deep relaxation.

3:00 – 4:00 PM: Sound Bath Immersion:
Immersive sound bath experience with singing bowls, gongs, and other instruments.
Facilitated by Rachel Summerson from LIFE Holistic Therapies.

4:00 – 4:30 PM: Closing Circle and Integration:
Sharing circle to reflect on the day’s experience.
Guided visualization and closing meditation.
Herbal tea and light snacks.

A Weekend of Releasing and Refining: Embracing the Clarity of Metal.

At the serene location of the coast, overlooking Holy Island, with clean, crisp air, to enhance the connection to the Metal element’s qualities.

This weekend retreat is for anyone seeking emotional release, clarity, and a deeper connection to their breath.

Weekend Schedule:

Friday:

  • Arrival (3:00 PM – 5:00 PM):
  • Welcome and settling in.
  • Herbal tea and light, cleansing snacks.
  • Opening Circle (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM):
  • Introduction to the Metal element and its qualities.
  • Intention setting for the weekend.
  • Yin Yoga (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM):
  • Focus on lung and large intestine meridians.
  • Long-held poses to encourage release.
  • Dinner (7:30 PM – 8:30 PM):
  • Light, nourishing meal with seasonal vegetables.
  • Restorative Yoga & Meditation (8:30 PM – 9:30 PM):
  • Breath-focused meditation to calm the mind.

Saturday:

  • Morning Pranayama (7:00 AM – 8:00 AM):
  • Deep breathing exercises (e.g., Kapalabhati, Nadi Shodhana) to purify the lungs.
  • Vinyasa Flow (8:00 AM – 9:30 AM):
  • A flowing practice with an emphasis on twists and side body stretches.
  • Breakfast (9:30 AM – 10:30 AM):
  • Healthy, balanced breakfast.
  • Nature Walk (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM):
  • Mindful walk in nature, focusing on the senses and the beauty of the present moment.
  • Lunch (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM):
  • light lunch.
  • Gentle Somatic Yoga & Thai Yoga Massage (2:30 PM – 4:30 PM):
  • Deep Yin poses combined with guided meditation to facilitate emotional release.
  • journaling time.
  • Free Time (4:30 PM – 6:00 PM):
  • Relaxation, journaling, or quiet contemplation.
  • Dinner (6:00 PM – 7:00 PM):
  • Nourishing, comforting meal.
  • Sound Healing (7:30 PM – 8:30 PM):
  • Sound bath with crystal bowls to promote deep relaxation and emotional clearing.

Sunday:

  • Morning Meditation (7:00 AM – 7:30 AM):
  • Silent meditation to cultivate inner stillness.
  • Gentle Morning Flow (7:30 AM – 9:00 AM):
  • Gentle movements and breathwork to integrate the weekend’s experiences.
  • Breakfast (9:00 AM – 10:00 AM):
  • Final breakfast together.

How to book Your place:

£175 per person non-refundable deposit will be taken upon booking (via the booking system).

The balance of your fee, what is the cost of oyur chosen accommodation, will be due 6 weeks prior to your weekend retreat, and payment will be via bank transfer to avoid you needing to pay any further booking fees.

Cancellations:

Please note that refunds are not given for cancellations. This includes deposits and balance payments. You are strongly recommended to take out insurance to cover reasons for non-attendance. As it is a short-term holiday it is strongly recommended that you take out adequate insurance for sickness, cancellations, and loss/damage to property.

In the very unlikely event of your retreat being cancelled by me, you will be offered an alternative date when one becomes available.

 

Behaviour:

Abusive or unkind behaviour towards teachers, staff, or other students will not be tolerated either online or at classes, and Yoga North East reserves the right to cancel your booking if it is felt that your behaviour is inappropriate.

 

Limitation of Liability – FOM Yoga:

In the unlikely event of injury, illness or theft or disruption to program, FOM Yoga/Marta Jackson is not responsible for any loss or damage to your personal property, or for any injury or illness sustained during the retreat.

Please check with your GP that you are well enough to attend the retreat for Yoga activities and walking (retreats are aimed at beginners and experienced practitioners alike, but if you are unsure, it’s best to check).

Cancellation policy is firm. Payment to FOM Yoga/ Marta Jackson indicates agreement with the conditions above, you will also be asked to tick a box on your booking form to confirm that you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.
