Nourishing somatic movement, intentional breathwork, and nervous system regulation to support you through every shift of your hormonal journey.
Perimenopause is not a process to be endured—it is an invitation to tune in, slow down, and listen deeply to your body’s wisdom. At Freedom of Movement Yoga, we offer a compassionate, body-led space where you can release tension, soothe your nervous system, and rediscover a sense of balance, agency, and ease.
Hormonal shifts during perimenopause can deeply impact your physical, emotional, and energetic well-being. From sleep disruption and heightened anxiety to fatigue and physical tension, the body is continually adapting.
Somatic movement and conscious breathwork meet your body exactly where it is. Rather than pushing through discomfort, somatic practices gently retrain the nervous system, shifting you out of fight-or-flight and into a state of deep restoration
Nervous System Regulation: Down-regulate stress response pathways using soothing breathwork to soften anxiety, improve sleep quality, and ease inner restlessness.

Pelvic & Core Grounding: Gentle, intuitive somatic sequences designed to relieve pelvic tightness, lower back tension, and structural fatigue.
Restorative Space & Community: Gather with a supportive circle of women navigating similar transitions, honoring your body's natural rhythms without judgment.

Hi, I’m Marta Jackson—a certified yoga teacher, somatic movement facilitator, embodiment guide, and founder of Freedom of Movement Yoga.
My journey with movement began with a personal search for balance, which evolved into a lifelong devotion to exploring the intersection of somatic wisdom, nervous system regulation, and emotional integration. Over years of practice and teaching, my passion has deeply centered on supporting women navigating the midlife transition and perimenopause—a time of profound physical, emotional, and hormonal shift.
Through my signature sessions, including Freedom Journey, I weave together intuitive somatic movement, fluid sequences, and soothing pranayama breathwork. I believe movement is not about fitting into rigid postures or forcing alignment. It is about dropping out of the analytical mind, honoring your body’s internal rhythms, and discovering what feels genuinely liberating and restorative for your unique system.
Whether facilitating specialized perimenopause circles, leading somatic release workshops, or guiding deep restorative practices, my goal is to hold an inclusive, nurturing, and empowering space. Here, you are invited to discharge stress, soothe your nervous system, and step off the mat feeling grounded, resilient, and fully at home in your body.
What is Somatic Yoga?
Somatic Yoga is a gentle, brain-to-body practice that uses slow, conscious movement to release chronic tension and reset your nervous system from the inside out.
How is it different from "regular" yoga?
Traditional yoga often focuses on external alignment and stretching. Somatic Yoga focuses on pandiculation (slowly tensing and releasing muscles) and sensory awareness. In a somatic class, you might spend more time moving slowly on the floor than standing in a pose.
Who is it for?
This practice is designed for anyone looking to bridge the gap between physical movement and mental well-being. It is particularly effective for:
Chronic Pain Sufferers: Relieving persistent back, neck, or joint tension.
High-Stress Individuals: Moving the body out of "fight or flight" into deep relaxation.
Desk Workers: Reversing the effects of "tech neck" and tight hips.
Athletes: Improving recovery and range of motion.
Trauma Recovery: Reconnecting with the body in a gentle, safe way.
Do I need previous yoga experience?
No, Somatic Yoga is accessible to everyone, regardless of fitness level or background. Because the focus is on internal sensation rather than mastering complex shapes, it requires no prior yoga experience, flexibility, or athletic ability. It is an ideal starting point for beginners, as it teaches you how to listen to your body’s unique needs before moving into more strenuous physical activities.
What are the benefits of Somatic Yoga?
Pain Management: Releases "locked" muscles that traditional stretching often misses.
Stress Reduction: Lowers cortisol levels and calms the mind.
Improved Mobility: Retrains the nervous system for more fluid, effortless movement.
Better Sleep: Prepares the body for restorative rest by clearing physical and mental "noise."
"Somatic practices with Marta helped me feel grounded in my own skin again. Learning to work with my nervous system rather than fighting my symptoms has completely changed how I experience perimenopause.""

"Just had a 1:1 yoga session with Marta, followed by Thai massage. All I can say is wow. It was amazing. I’ve been in Marta’s classes before, but this was my first 1:1. Marta is a wonderful yoga teacher, and I would definitely recommend her classes, her 1:1 yoga and her Thai Yoga Massages. "
